An action-packed day at the International Jamboree
We arrived at Grantham Meres bright and early ready to get the coach to Lincolnshire Showground for Junior Poacher!
Kaa met us at the car park and we waited patiently to get our high-tech wrist bands which we needed to so we could be ‘scanned’ into the Showground. We did a quick toilet stop and then went to do the fairground activities, climbing wall, bumper boats and bumper cars, trampolining and circus skills. We made sure that we were drinking lots of water as it was very hot!
After a morning of fun, we decided to have an early lunch as we were all starving! We headed to the Caythorpe and Foston camp where the Scouts and Explorers are camping for the week. We enjoyed a quiet lunch in the shade before heading to watch an amazing musical performance of film music by the RAF Voluntary Wind Band. Our Beavers and Cubs were all really well behaved and really enjoyed the music, with some of our Beavers even singing along to songs from Frozen and K-Pop Demon Hunters.
Tic-Tac joined us for the afternoon which was really lovely! First we headed to the shop where we all spent some of our pennies. Most of us had some money left over for an ice-cream which was very much needed in the heat!
We spent the rest of the afternoon having fun on the inflatables, ice skating and we also had another turn on the bumper boats and the climbing wall, and some of us had time to meet some animals too!
After all that fun, it was time to get the coach back to Grantham with some very tired Beavers and Cubs!
