A misty, chilly Remembrance Parade

Caythorpe Scout Group joins village parade

It was a chilly, misty, almost eerie start to the day, as Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Young Leaders, volunteer Leaders and families assembled for our annual Remembrance Parade and Service.

Approximately 30 young people and volunteers made a huge effort, looking incredibly smart for the event; neckers were ironed and neatly rolled, smart trousers and skirts worn, and shoes polished for the occasion.

Following a short parade from our meeting point to St. Vincent’s Church, we filed into the church for a short, poignant service. All our young people were impeccably behaved throughout the service, after which we assembled at the War Memorial for the two minutes silence, and then laid crosses at the memorial.

Thank you to all our members and families who joined us. We hope you’ve managed to warm up again by the time you read this article!
